DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote, US East Coast Preferrable
Department: Engineering / IT Operations
Reports To: Director of Software Engineering & CTO
Job Description:
Acceliot is seeking a highly capable DevOps Engineer skilled across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) who can drive deployment, automation, observability, and operational excellence for both our Acceliot Edge Platform (AEP), deployed at customer sites, and our Acceliot Visibility Platform (AVP) hosted in the cloud as well as on-prem for certain government-facing customers.
This role bridges cloud engineering, DevOps automation, and internal IT/network operations. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable standing up infrastructure-as-code pipelines as they are configuring a corporate router, maintaining VPN segmentation, and ensuring secure connectivity to our internal inventory systems. You’ll be instrumental in building monitoring, logging, and operational dashboards that give our engineering and support teams complete visibility into system health across edge and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud & Platform Operations
- Deploy, maintain, and optimize AVP environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, following best practices for security, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Automate cloud infrastructure using industry tools for IaC frameworks
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for AEP and AVP using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tooling
- Build and maintain images, containers, and orchestration workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ECS/EKS/AKS/GKE, etc.
- Support edge deployments of AEP, including onboarding new customer environments, secure tunneling/VPN configuration, and configuration management
Networking & Internal IT Infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Acceliot’s internal corporate network, including:
- Router configuration, rule sets, and firmware management
- VPN server and client configuration (OpenVPN, WireGuard preferred)
- Network segmentation between IT systems and production inventory systems
- Firewall rules, VLANs, routing tables, gateway policies, and Na.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN issues for HQ and remote developers
Monitoring, Logging & Observability
- Develop dashboards and alerts using tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent
- Implement centralized logging pipelines using Splunk, DataDog, ELK/Opensearch, or cloud-native tools
- Instrument AEP/AVP systems for proactive performance, uptime, and anomaly detection
- Integrate monitoring and log aggregation with DevOps automation for self-healing or auto-ticketing workflows
Automation & Systems Engineering
- Write automation scripts and tooling in Python, Bash, or Go to streamline operations
- Build scalable configuration management patterns using Ansible, SaltStack, or similar tools
- Standardize deployment patterns and internal runbooks for support and engineering teams
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security controls, including IAM, MFA, rotation policies, logging, cloud security posture management, and network segmentation
- Support secure customer deployments and internal audits
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in DevOps, CloudOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Proven experience deploying and supporting workloads in AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Strong networking knowledge: VPNs, routing, subnetting, firewalling, VLANs, DNS, DHCP
- Hands-on administration experience with corporate routers
- Demonstrated ability to build monitoring dashboards and alerting systems (Grafana, Nagios, Prometheus, DataDog, Splunk)
- Proficiency with automation tooling: Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python
- Experience managing Linux servers (Ubuntu preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to deeply troubleshoot systems across the stack
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship
Nice to have:
- Experience deploying or supporting edge IoT / distributed compute systems
- Exposure to RFID platforms, data ingestion pipelines, or real-time analytics (bonus for familiarity with AEP/AVP components)
- Kubernetes certification or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience building secure multi-tenant SaaS environments
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for operational excellence and automation
- The ability to understand and support both cloud and on-prem environments
- Strong documentation habits and a mindset for building scalable systems
- Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, project delivery, and field technicians
- Problem-solving, creativity, and a willingness to dig deep into complex environments
Why Join Acceliot?
You’ll play a foundational role in shaping the operational backbone of Acceliot’s edge and cloud platforms. This is a chance to own a diverse technical stack, influence system architecture, and ensure the reliability of mission-critical inventory visibility systems for customers worldwide.
